Classroom Information
I will use a Clip Chart system in our classroom to help us monitor our behavior. Students begin each day in the middle of the chart (Read To Learn) and move their clip up and down during the day depending on the choices they make. Here is a model of the Clip Chart and what each space on the chart means: Outstanding If students move their clip to pink or “top of the chart!, they get a special outstanding note sent home! Role Model Students who move to purple are being great role models. Extra Effort If students move their clip to blue, they are going above and beyond in their work and they are making good choices. Ready to Learn All students begin their day on green and will move clip up or down depending on the choices they make. Think About It Yellow is a reminder that students need to make good choices and follow our classroom rules. Teacher’s Choice When a student moves their clip to orange, they need to take a break from the group or other option decided by the teacher. Parent Contact/Office If a student moves to red, parents will be contacted and/or they will be seen by an administrator. |
Birthdays I like to celebrate the students’ birthdays because I think it helps create a sense of community. If you choose to do so, you may send store-bought treats to celebrate with their classmates. Please let me know a few days in advance, as it is helpful to plan the day accordingly. According to district policy, it is mandatory that the treats be store bought. If your child’s birthday falls during a summer month, we will celebrate it during the month of May. Snack Our class will have snack time each afternoon. Students will bring in individual snacks to be kept in the child's locker and taken out during snack time. I encourage children to bring healthy snacks, such as fruit, veggies, crackers, etc. No snacks will be shared or kept in the classroom. |
